God love a garden

Crocus, tulip, daffodil,
Adorn our patch of heaven,
Awakened from Hybernia,
Warm sunlight is the leaven;

Perhaps this year, we'll harvest fruit
From pruned blueberry shrubs;
Granola garnish, pie to bake,
Or simply healthful grubs;

No doubt framboise will thrive again
Renewing its attack,
Across the yard without regard
For any ordered tract;

And soon we'll plant our peppers;
Our lettuce, we'll lay down;
Oh, bless'd are we forever
On this kindly silt-rich ground!
