These were pretty much local elections. The basic political situation in the US is that Barack Obama is just about the only popular incumbent politician, and everyone else is hated with a passion. Obama is at or just above 50% approval while the Democratic Congress is under 40% and the Republican are around 30%.<br />I think what is happening is a general disgust with the two parties, and a move towards three groups, the values-based, Fox viewing Right Wing at one end, the coastal city "progressive" pinko liberals at the Left, and the Reagan Democrat/Old School Republican, fiscal conservative middle.Dan Binmorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09631203781543243534noreply@blogger.com
